Jointly funded by the Scottish Arts Council National Lottery Fund and The City of Edinburgh Council, North Edinburgh Arts Centre opened in 2002 as a new build arts centre in Edinburgh's Muirhouse district. The £3 million arts features a 96 - 150 capacity studio theatre that stages a diverse array of small scale productions, dance, film and live music performances.

North Edinburgh Arts Centre is also home to an extensive range of multi arts activities held in its studio spaces, gallery, recording studio/live rooms, café bar and garden. Since its inauguration, this popular venue has proved to be a success and continues to grow from strength to strength. North Edinburgh Arts Centre attracts children, schools and family audiences from all over Edinburgh and beyond to its many events and workshops held throughout the year.
The purpose of North Edinburgh Arts Centre is to showcase quality works of art that evoke expression, interaction and dialogue. It also serves its purpose as one of the most significant venues in Edinburgh for entertainment, offering a welcoming, open and flexible environment for visitors. The Centre has proved itself as a valuable resource for theatre and dance companies who utilise this state-of-the-art venue for the production of new material.
The Arts Centre is proud to offer an extensive range of modern facilities including a crèche and garden, workshop studios, galleries and a recording suite. The studio theatre is the perfect venue for hosting corporate events and the café regularly stages live music session featuring local musicians and vocalists.
